Tim was absolutely amazing! I originally wanted a band, but it just didn't work with our venue, so we went with a dj. However, I still wanted some element of live music. Tim was the answer! We met Tim about two weeks before our wedding with hopes of him being our musician for our first three dances. I couldn't believe how confident and flexible he was. He had to learn brand new songs for us in less than two weeks!! He came prepared to our venue with his professional equipment and worked closely with the DJ and venue before hand to make sure the sound was perfect. My dad, a musician still talks about the sounds quality:) It was perfect. His voice is out of this world!! We are SO happy that he could celebrate and be such an important part of our day. I cannot speak highly enough of Tim and his amazing talents as a wedding musician. From the moment I heard him play at my sister's wedding, I knew that when I got married I had to have him be a part of my special day as well. My daughter who lives in Houston Texas called me up one day to say she is coming home to PA in September to get married and they booked Buhl Mansion for their wedding. I the Mom was extremely happy and excited but knew nothing about Buhl Mansion or planning a wedding. I went onto Buhl Mansion’s website and I couldn't believe how beautiful the castle rooms and gardens were. I was thinking about hiring a guitar player because the wedding would be small and intimate around 20 guests. Buhl Mansion sent me a list of Event Referrals for caterers, florists, photographers and entertainment. The first name on the list for entertainment was Tim Ruff the acoustic crooner, how ironic was that, so I clicked on his website www.TheAcousticCrooner.com and there he was holding his guitar. I clicked on his recordings and was blown away by what I was listening to, I knew then he was the one I wanted for my daughter’s wedding. Then I went onto the song list and was just amazed of the choices he had listed. I check You Tube and he was playing Marry Me by Train at Buhl Mansion in the Library and Parlor room. Tim gets a 5+ star rating from me because he totally exceeded my expectations along with my daughter and her husband and our guests. He is extremely easy to work with friendly and very professional and good looking. The quality of his music and performance was exceptionable. My husband said he studied opera and sang us a few notes, one word for him (amazing). He was easy to contact via email and or phone calls. Within a week of the wedding my daughter requested some George Strait, Jim Brickman and Safteysuit songs which he learned and sang beautifully. Tim provided us with over 4 hours of wonderful wedding entertainment. MY husband and guests said they could of listen to him play for a another couple of hours. I would highly recommend Tim for weddings or any kind entertainment. You will not be disappointed you will be blown away by his music performance.

Deciding to have Tim/The Acoustic Crooner perform at our wedding was the easiest and best decision. We knew as soon as we heard him sing that we wanted him at our wedding. Tim more than exceeded our expectations. Despite feeling a little under the weather and that his voice wasn't 100% (which you would never have known when you heard him), he powered through and delivered an amazing performance of songs, including several special requests that we asked if he could learn ahead of time. While we were confident Tim would be a great addition to our small, family focused wedding…he managed to exceed our expectations. With a thunderstorm looming, he didn’t miss a beat when the decision was made to move the outdoor ceremony up – eliminating most prelude music. He rolled with it...making the transition undetectable to guests. Then, when the storm arrived, he quickly relocated indoors to set up for our ‘captive’ audience. He entertained, assisted with announcements and watched for our non-verbal cues throughout the night. Even his adlib during the cake cutting was perfect! He was a hit with EVERYONE – especially the three music teachers in attendance. Finally, and most importantly, he was willing to learn a few, lesser-known songs for us. Not only did he pull it off, but they were absolutely beautiful. From our initial discussion, the planning of the music and then the final confirmation, Tim was not only professional, but a friendly and fun individual who clearly wanted to help make our night a special experience. It set the perfect tone to our celebration and we would definitely recommend him to others!

Tim wrote my now husband and I a custom song. The first time we heard our song was on our wedding day. One of the best decisions that we made for our wedding day was choosing Tim to do the music for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Working with him in the months leading up to the wedding was easy and collaborative when we were doing consultations for selecting the songs for the ceremony. His knowledge and experience is something that we definitely needed in planning our ceremony and musical selections. He learned a lot of new songs and music for our Catholic ceremony, but sitting there listening to him throughout it, you would have thought he'd been performing them for years. We heard so many positive comments from family and friends at our wedding about how well Tim's acoustic guitar and beautiful voice added so much to our ceremony. While I wasn't at the cocktail hour, I heard that the music was fun, energizing and romantic. We can’t say enough wonderful things about having Tim as our musician for our wedding! Throughout the entire wedding process, Tim was so easy to consult with, which was important to us since we were planning our wedding in Pittsburgh from Maryland. He spent time getting to know Garrett and I and to talk to us to understand exactly what we wanted on our wedding day. Though we didn’t get to hear too much of the music he played during cocktail hour (we were doing pictures with the photographer!), we had many friends and family who loved the music and raved about him to us. Tim sang our first dance song (Die a Happy Man) beautifully and we were so happy with the quality of the music. Most importantly, though, was Tim’s dedication to making sure our wedding reception went smoothly. At one point during the reception, the generator in our tent gave out and the DJ (separate vendor) playing music during that time lost power and all the music cut out. Without even being asked, Tim grabbed his guitar and started playing on the dance floor while our guests continued to dance until the DJ had power again. He really did keep the party going during what could have been a minor disaster! Overall, Tim was so easy to work with and we honestly felt like he was a friend just helping us out on our wedding day instead of someone we had hired! I was so impressed and excited when I first listened to Tim on his website. Looking through his extensive list of songs did not make it easy for me to narrow down what I wanted for the ceremony. Tim was eager to talk before the wedding to make sure he knew exactly what style my husband and I are and what we desired for our wedding day. He was a delight to work with and for someone I never met before I felt much at ease when speaking with him on the phone. It felt like I was meeting an old friend when we finally met face to face on my wedding day. I was never worried about how his performance would be for any part of my wedding day because of his professionalism and talent. It was beyond anything I could've imagined. My first dance was such a treat, he even changed a few of the lyrics so the song fit my husband and I that much more.

Tim played for my sister's wedding ceremony and it could have not gone better. Not only is he an amazingly talented musician, he was beyond considerate to deal with. He worked with my sister for hours helping her choose songs and making sure the entire performance would go exactly as she wanted. He learned a new song within weeks and played all of the songs perfectly. He was easily available for any questions or concerns my sister had leading up to the wedding. We hired Tim for our wedding, and honestly couldn't have been happier! From the very first contact I knew that going with Tim as our musician was the right move, he more or less serenaded my fiance over the phone and she was immediately hooked. We didn't have any special requirements per se, we knew we wanted a particular style of music, sort of a Jason Mraz meets James Taylor kind of vibe and believe me, Tim DID NOT DISAPPOINT. We wanted specific processional and recessional songs, which Tim already had in his wheelhouse, as well as a specific first dance. Again, couldn't be happier. The reception itself we let Tim take creative freedom and design his own playlist. Our guests were very impressed with the variety of songs in Tim's repertoire. My Aunt almost had to be restrained because she wanted to join in as a duet on virtually every song!
Tim is a consummate professional. His passion for what he does shines very brightly through all that he does. His work ethic in providing a quality product is polished to a level beyond my expectations. Tim is very responsive in communications as well. My advice to anyone reading this, if you want a memorable event do yourself a favor, reach out to Tim and put the music for the event in his hands. You won't be disappointed.

Tim is AMAZING! We are stationed in the Middle East and called last minute to sing specific songs to my brother and sister accomplishing two milestones.
